What are these things?

They are quite small right now. There are about 6 on the live rock. We just noticed them today. 5 out of 6 of them are long tube-like things. See through, with a plume at the top. The other one is squat, but pretty much the same. I've read they could be the start of new feather dusters, I've read they could be sponges. This is the best picture I can get of them. are they okay to keep in the tank?
We had an outbreak of red algae recently and can't get rid of it. Could that be why they sprung up? We only have two clowns. We were going to get a second shrimp, but don't want to put it in till we get the tank back under control as we learned shrimp are fragile to any sort of spike.
Thank you.

They're Q-Tip sponges ... harmless filter feeders. The fatter one's are also called pineapple sponges.
