What kind of riding do you do? Replacement parts for suzuki 600's are alot more readily available at cheap prices. As well as the bikes themselves being a dime a dozen on the used market. Just inspect them carefully so you know they weren't used as stunt bikes.
If you're just riding on the street. Go with what you like in appearance/comfort. As personally IMO, the differences between most of the 600's are marginal for street riding. I'm kind of fond of Kawasaki's 636. Although they will probally put you out of the 600 insurance prices.

personally i owned the gsxr 600 and loved it. I rode my friends honda although it was a nice bike i didn't think it came close to the gsxr as far as comfort. i didn't stunt ride ride or anything of that nature i just liked to be on my bike....

i am a big yamaha fan I would love the new r1 that is bad bike i rode a couple of v-twin sport bikes two guys at work had insurance is cheaper to something about the difference but they have no front ferring (front piece) one is a 1000 suk and the other is a 1200 i think both pretty nice

I can't speak from experience, but when I was seriously considering buying a sports bike, I was most impressed with the Suzuki GSX-R. I was looking at the 750 though. By impressed, I don't mean in riding because they don't let you test ride them here. I mean in appearance, the feel when sitting on it and the price.
Good luck in whatever you choose.
