I am going to get a magnifica will any clown host it or just some thinking black and whites or maroons
This anemone is a host to ocellaris, perculas, and pink skunk clownfish in the wild. However, pink skunks tend to prefer sebae or long tentacle anemones. This is a very good question, as specific clownfish and anemones DO seem to acclimate better in the presence of one another
I have a magnificent anemone. The second I added it to my tank my true perc left his BTA to host it. Recently I purchased a black and white ocellaris pair. I also recieved a RBTA with them that the seller informed me it took them almost a year to finally begin hosting. The second day they were in my tank the male kicked by true percs booty and took over the magnificent anemone. It took the female another day or two to join him.
True and false percs OBVIOUSLY consider this the Cadillac of anemones. If you purchase true percula, ocellaris, or black and white ocellaris clownfish I would not call it a 50/50 chance, but rather a matter of time. Also, maroon clowns actually prefer bubble tip anemones. Good luck!
