I have a 46 bow and have PC's. I don't have good lighting for anemones so I would like to get a coral good for PC's and that a clown will hang in. Any suggestions?

Clowns are funny about hosting, every clown is different. They tend to host green hairy mushrooms the most as for as corals go, but thats not to say the clown you have would...

I've seen tanks where clowns hung out in xenia but I haven't had any luck in my tank, I've also heard frogspawn or torch corals might work, but it depends on the clown and some may never move in to anything, even an anemone.

ur light is not good enough for xenia plus thats one of the hardest corals to keep, i got two branches of frogspawn that both my clowns hang out in all the time. frogspawn would work well with ur light.

power compacts are fine for xenia...and they are not hard at all...they are mysterious corals and some people cant get the to grow for anything, but if you do the spread like wildfire...they are very easy, my first coral.

From what I got from reasearch on them, is they actually need crappy water to thrive for some reason. They will live in perfect water but not spread.

I saw one of my two clowns trying to host a red-striped mushroom and the other seems to like the frogspawn right next to it.

consider yourself lucky. i have everything in the euphyllia family, hairy shrooms, xenia, long star polyps, but the only thing my clowns hosted was the silicone in the tank corners. again if they're tank raised they may not host anything at all, they're weird little fish.
