what corals?

I just got a replacement bulb for my hood......It is a 50/50 bulb that is I think 30 watts. Please tell me if I can keep any kinds of corals under this light and what kind. Let me know.

sorry to burst your bubble but you cant keep much under those lights. Most corals require more intense lighting than regular florescent lights. You might be able to get away with keeping some mushrooms, but ive never tried anything under that lighting.

candy coral might be ok, but it would eventually die off in a few months. try investing in a pc or metal halide system then you can get some really cool corals

dont ever put a coral in your tank that will die in a few months, what would the point be?? The coral would just slowly die, id consider a lighting upgrade before i try corals.

Mushroom polyps should be ok. They should do fine with the light you have. Also some star polyps would do well.
