Pricing lighting. I have a 55 gal which eventually I would like to keep some harder to keep corals under.
48" 2 65 watt smartlamp bulb 50% daylight 50% actinic.
are these good and do I have a large selection of corals and inverts to choose from with these??

You could probably keep some low light softies in them but in order for them to thrive you will eventually need an upgrade. There's a big difference in keeping something alive versus giving them a stimulating and healthy environment. I'm sure mushrooms would be fine in your tank. I just upgraded my 2-30 watt NO to 2-95 watt VHO's. The difference is amazing but unfortunately so was the price(430.00). Make sure to check on the lighting requirements for corals before placing them in your current set-up to avoid any problems.

Hi,
You can pick up some MH bulbs and fixtures at aquaticlights.com Very cheap ballast and lights and from what I hear they are a very good system. I think Mr. Salty has some of these, maybe he can comment. That sounds like your best bet.

Ok so why bother upgrading your lights at all if you cant keep anything except fish under anything less than VHO?
