Tonight I was in the process of a treatment via Greenex. I have to take out the carbon filters from my powerhead intakes and out of the Emperor 400 Wet/Dry. Anyways...
When taking out the carbon filters form the Emperor they have a sort of blue brillo pad type filter attached. I noticed many many little creatures living in the pad, around the pad, and on the pad. I havent got a clue as to what they could even be. Can someone please tell me what this could be?
All I do know is that the Emperor will suck up uneaten food which would be a perfect place as a hatchery for many little bugs living in the tanks system.
I have a couple guesses but I definately do not know what they could be.
Guess 1: They are the same bugs that take up residence in my substrate, they just happen to find a new home to take up residence.
Guess 2: Is it possible the frozen food such as mysis or brine have eggs that get introduced into the system and they end up hatching? I know this sounds far fetched but like I said, it crossed my mind as something not out of the realm of possibility.
Thanks ahead of time,
Jrittz
