Over the past month, I've noticed tiny, black, round balls (eggs?) scattered on the substrate of my saltwater tank. They are approximately 1-1/2 mm diameter. It has to be either my Green Chromis, or my Cardinal fish. These are the only fish that I have multiples of. The second time I noticed the black dots, they were mostly in the bottom of a small depression that one of the fish obviously dug out. Can anyone confirm that these are Green Chromis eggs? None of the fish appear to be guarding them.
Cardinal fish are mouth brooders like Shrimpy Brains said and Green Chromis lay their eggs on rock or glass, they don't scatter their eggs into the water column. Can you take a few pictures? Pictures would help a lot.
