What do moon lights do?

I have been wondering for the longest time what do Blue L.E.D. Moonlights do?
IM planning on buying a light fixture and it has these and I want to use them correctly

Well unless your going to get into a bunch of really expessive equipment in order to try and actually replicate moon phases in order to attempt to get coral to spawn, they simply provide light in the tank at night. Most sources I've seen recommend turning them on one hour after all your other lights turn off, and turning them off one hour before your other lights turn back on. Some corals actually "glow" under the moonlights, so they can create a pretty cool effect when you are viewing your tank at night.

No im just seeing all of these light fixtures with moonlights and im just wondering how to use them so my tank wont get disturbed in any way, but no im not going to have any corals in my tank, probrably just zoos. But thank you for the info.

Even though they may not have a 'purpose' i have a sunpod MH system and i absolutely love the blue led look at night. Honestly that is my favorite time to look at my tank now because of how nice the blue LED's look on my rocks, corals, and anemone.
It won't hurt anything, and if you can purcahse a system with them included i would get it. Most come on a separate power source so you can set them up on difference times compared to your main lights.

I read somewhere that fish need some source of light after the lights go out, or they can become aggressive.
