if you have an outbreak of red slime like that the first thing i would do would be to cut down your lighting. Second what kind of water are you using? tap water most of the time contains a lot of phosphates which help alge grow. And lastly how old are your lights? After a bulb has been in use for a while the spectrum gets out of spec and these unwanted wavelenghts can cause alge growth.
Hopefully that helps if anyone out there knows anything else or can correct something i stated please do so

i use a water purifier mad for aquariums and my lights are new maybe 1-2 months old
