What do you do, to LOWER NITRATES and Keep them low?!
I have a 46 gallon bowfront reef tank with 5 fish (yellow tang, Flame angel, 2 clowns and a yellow tail damsel).
What is the best way to keep NITRATES low as possible and maintain them there?
What do you guys do??

If you have a CC substrate like I do vacuming will help a great deal.
I had nitrates that were off the chart but by doing many water changes and vacuming the CC each time nitrates are now under control and steady at around 10 PPM.

A balanced and maintained system works for me to keep nitrates low......100 lbs lr...100+ lbs ls...low bio-load...try to refrain from excessive feeding...10% water change bi-weekly...currently my nitrate are around 5 ppm....been there for 6-8 weeks....recently added a 30 gal gravity return refugium and will soon add macroalgaes to help futher reduce and maintain nitrates.........hopefully I'll be able to stay near 0........

forgot to mention that I also run 2 cpr bacpac 2r skimmers....one is running in the tank....the second will skim in the refugium after it is up for a while longer....currently I've got only the skimmer in the tank....but the 2nd is ready and waiting
