what do you feed?

hey I just got a mushroom coral... do you have to like feed it directly?? and if so what do you feed it and how?
also there are 2 heads that came on a small rock... I wanted to reallocate them to my bigger pieces of base/Live rock. possible? and if so what do I need to do?

If it's just a regular mushroom you don't need to feed it anything, rics will eat but also not necessary. To remove I usually take a razor blade and try to ease up some rock under it, that way it doesn't hurt the shroom and you can glue it easier. Otherwise wait until they adjust to your tank a little and slice underneath them, you can chop the cap into a few different pieces if you want and there are various ways to get them to attach to rubble so you can glue them, I just let them float around but you lose a couple this way, you can also stick them in a low flow area with some clear bridal veil over them. Once they have some sand stuck to them glue to a rock.

that is kind of what I thought too... just wanted to make 100% sure... and there is no way of getting the shroom to stick to a rock without the super glue? something about adding super glue to my tank makes me uneasy

I've been able to stick larger ones to rock and they re-attatch themselves, you have to be patient with them though

No need to be uneasy about superglue in your tank...use the cyanoacrylate based glues (aka. Krazyglue) and you'll be fine. If you have to do it IN the tank (instead of taking the rock out, glueing and then returning into water) just be careful that the glue doesn't go all over the place or that your scavengers don't get stuck to the rock. It's kinda tricky under water (especially the first time or two)...if you can I would take the rock out, pat it dry with paper towel, pat the mushroom down too and then glue them together...hold them in place for like 15-20 seconds and then you can return the rock into your DT.
