What do you know about the Penn Plax cascade filters?

I used them when they first came out before i switched to a sump/fuge. They do the same thing as fluval and other type canisters. They are starting to get a better review (the whole penn plex thing
) I still use one in my sump to polish water and as a phosban reactor. The little ball valve can be used to adjust flow rate, and have it run into my uv sterilizer. great filter at a great price, the other canister filters are coming down in price to compete now. The only thing I have to say about any canister filter is you will need to keep two of the course black filters and swap them out every week to keep nitrates down. Let them sit and cycle to long and nitrates start to climb at a steady rate. oh and always go next size bigger then what your tank is/matched up too JMO HTH
