Makes an appearance from time to time... Has a very long proboscis, Im gonna say Nassarius..
What do you think? Nassarius or Whelk?

Ditto. If he is mostly buried in the sand and only comes out to eat, likely a nass. If he is on the glass and rocks mostly, likely not....unless your not feeding your nasses. They are pretty hardy eaters.

I think it looks like a whelk. Granted a naussarius IS a whelk, but we all know what we mean.

You could be right, now that I look at the whelk.

When I feed my tank the whole sand bed comes alive with nass snails, its cool to watch
