What do you think of gracicaia red algae?

At our lfs there was something I had never seen before and wondered what you all thought about it. It is called gracicaia red algae. The ones they had there were deep red and looked like fat round short bush of spikes. It was interesting because of the different look and color. Do any of you have these or do you think it would be good for a reef tank?

I have a whole tank full of it ...its a nuisance.

I had that stuff bad, and couldn't seem to get rid of it.
I tried everything and it just seemed to get worse.
Then I made two changes, one that I think stopped it in its tracks and the second that got rid of what was there.
The first change was to cover the glass on the end of my tank that was pointed at some south facing windows. The second was to get more XL Mexican Turbo snails and a sea hare that 6 weeks ago was about 2 inches long, 1 inch wide and 3/4 inches at its tallest point (now it is about 4 inches long, 2.5 inches wide and 2 inches tall).
Turned out that the sun light coming in that end of the tank was what was driving the growth of the algae, and by shutting that down, I got no new growth. Then, between the bunch of munchers (really only about 6 total XL Mexican Turbos) they tore through that stuff over the last 6 weeks and Iit is basically gone. I am sooooo happy!!!

Good luck with yours Veni Vidi Vici!

I live in a tri level and my tank is in the lowest level,it gets very little natural sunlight and no direct. My Mex turbos dont even touch the stuff neither does my Lawnmover Blenny(they do like to knock over everything that isnt nailed down). It grows slow though and it even seems to have slowed down since ive started running a phosphate reactor.
I recently started dripping kalk and that seems be reducing it.
For awhile though .....this stuff was way out of control.
