what do you use as a skimmer stand?

What to use as a skimmer stand? Please post pictures if anyone has made one their selves. I need to raise my skimmer 7 inches to get the output of the gate valve above the water level

Anyone, preferably something that would also reduce vibrations and thus noise.

How big is the skimmer base? if it's 8"x4" or so, you could take a 4x4" piece of wood (make sure it's untreated), cut two pieces that are 6.75" tall and bind them together with wood glue. Then, on the top surface, glue on some type of foam or insulation. If you want, you can even glue on some insulation on the bottom of the aparatus too.
If you want, you can even paint the piece of wood the same color as your stand.

I just made a simple 3 piece "| |" for my EV240 out of 2"x4"s. Took 10mins. For an in-sump stand, I've used short pieces of 3" PVC to raise it up a touch.

Sorry I did not clarify, the skimmer is in the sump so I need something that can be in the saltwater.

in your sump then i'd use PVC structure and egg crate
