What does a flower/rock anemone eat?

I've had the anemone about 6 wks...I've offered it everything from mysis & brine shrimp, reef formula one, cyclopeeze, reef chili, market shrimp & scallop bits. I have yet to see it eat anything. Its tentacles are sticky and I've felt its sting so I know those parts are working. It looks great, but I know looks can be deceiving. thanks

The Flower Anemone is a carnivore, and requires meaty foods to survive. Offer mussels and freshly chopped fish meat, as well as high quality frozen foods
You could try running a chunk on a skewer by his tentacles.

I did try that...all it does is withdraw from being touched. I think I'll try fish slices. I just checked its stinging power and it still has a sting...ranks right up there with a carpet/sabae anemone..ouch! Maybe if I wiggle a bit of food close by, it will reach out & grab it! Thanks for the suggestion..please offer more...who knows what might work. You know, what's odd (or maybe I should say it is not what I expected for a mouth) is when it has opened its mouth, the inside of the mouth looks like whale baleen..the part of a whale's mouth used for filter feeding. I might not be using the correct word.

Are you poking the food right at the center, or brushing it by the ends of the tenticles? It may feel like it's being attacked rather than taking advantage of a passing fish.

How often do they require feeding? I'm using shrimp and my anemone LOVES it. But I don't want to overfeed!

I don't remember exactly, but daily is overdoing it. I forget if they're on the every two days or the weekly list.
