What does soaking food in garlic do to ich?

I am starting to battle a small case of ich with garlic soaked food.
Is there such a thing? Or should I start making plans for a H tank?
What does the garlic do? Make the fish stronger or the ich weaker?

I would do both...feed fish garlic soaked food & get a hospital tank ready.
Garlic is a parasite repellent. Apparently the ick does not like the taste of it! Similiarly, with dog, some dog owners feed their dogs garlic tabs for flee control.
Additionally, IMO, garlic acts as an immune booster for fish, as it does with humans.
