What else will I need (reef start up)?

I am planning on picking up a 75 gallon tank and stand with included reef lighting this week. I am trying to plan out what else I need to purchase to get the tank going.
So far I have this planned:
AquaC Remora Protein Skimmer
3 Power Heads
Heaters
125-150lbs of live rock
75-80lbs of live sand
Oceanic Salt
Testing Supplies
Questions:
1) Do I need to do a refuge or a sump or will this be enough filtration?
2) Do I need a HOB filter like I run in my FW tanks?
3) What are some good power heads for my setup?
4) Can I start the tank with all of this rock and sand together or do I need to cure and QT it little by little?
I have many more questions, but this is a start.

1) A refuge and sump will only help the tank. Highly suggested
2) A HOB filter is not needed but people do run them on SW tanks
3) Koralia powerheads are popular but are bulky. However I like them.
4) Add the water, then all the liverock, lastly add the sand. Then let it cycle
What kind of lighting system is it?

The 1st thing you are going to need is more money lol
I would go ahead and setup a fuge, HOB filters IMO are not suited very well for Saltwater,Tunze make great powerheads, but if you want to save some dough look into getting some Koralia's, add the LR and sand at the very begininng and that should start the cycle..Some people use damsels to cycle a tank, but that is a waaay outdated practice..The LR should start it up for you..If that dont work you can add a peice of raw shrimp to start it up

Are we participating in a post race that you and I are not aware of?

Can I get away without doing a sump or refuge at first if I do water changes frequently and keep a lot of live rock in the tank?
Also, what are the DIRO or whatever it maybe water setups I keep hearing about and are they needed?

Yes you can get away with it. I do not have a sump and I only have a "in tank refuge".
You want to use Reverse Osmosis water. The DI stands for deionization. For a tank your size you could get away with buying reverse osmosis water from the grocery store. Will cost you $1 a gallon though.
These RO/DI machines will usually cost you at least $200.

Purchasing a RO/DI machine will save you a lot of money in the long run. You figure that you will or should be changing 30 gallons of water a month. After 6 months you have basically spent the amount of money that could have purchased a RO/DI machine.

Personally I would ditch the Remora and buy an Octopus HOB skimmer. You will get more out of it than the Remora (I have had both, and the Octopus is much better)
