I am looking at a dual 400 watt metal halide setup and it says retro. I have always bought lights that don't say that so I don't really know what it means. So.......
What exactly does retrofit mean on lighting?

Hairytrigger- How do ya like that S&W .357? Mmmmmm......I love the smell of gunpowder in the morning. Anywayz, yeah, retro fit kits are usually everything BUT the hood. It's all the wiring and cr@p. My ricordias kicked it, but on a lighter note, the fish are doing much much better. I dipped them all again, and did a small water change.

HAY!!!! First smartguy... it's a smith .45. I want a RUGER .357 revolver. But the new one I just got is a smith .45.
Second... how the hey do you know what a retro light is professor? Mister "I know I am just a little shrimp but..." Have you been doing research for once?
I was wondering about the ricordea's. I was under the impression they were splitting. But, then I noticed you posted that the slime was covering the whole thing. That's not bad. Dude, I bet it was a result of your water not being through cycling . Who knows, but if the other rock is doing well still that is a good indicator since you added it AFTER the cycle should have ended.
And, it doesnt matter if youre dang fish are doing well. Because all that's left are damsels. And they can live in sewers. I know this is gonna P-O all the tree huggers on here... but I say you flush em down to the sewer. Or take them back to the LFS. Happy? I can be humane too. But, I bet a quick hit from a speeding .45 bullet would be painless.
It's tuesday. My weekend begins in 4 hours at 1pm. Call me, I'll come up to uga.
