What Filtration for 55?

I posted a similar question in the aggressive section but i figured that it would be more appropriate here. I have just bought a 55 gal and am planning an aggressive setup. I was planning on using a Hot Pro Magnum Canister along with a Skilter 250 but I am not sure if this will be enough. Should I consider a Wet Dry Filter, and if so, what is the cheapest way to do it?!? If not, what should i use? Thanks for all the help!!

I have a 55-gallon fish/live rock/reef, my tank has been set up for four years i use the hang on Emperor 400 since day one with no problem, it pumps 400gph it costs 44.00 bucks, i clean it every 3 months other then that it does a great job for me. Good Luck. ;)

Sorry forgot to tell you, i would (not) get the skilter as many people have said its a piece of junk a big waste of money, after doing a lot of reading on many boards i went with the Remora C hang-on skimmer, the best investment i have made, i put the maxie-jet 1200 on and it works great, everyting in the tank looks 100 percent better, plus what it pulls out of the tank i still can't belive, i think you'll be a lot happier with a better skimmer. ;)

The 2 Skilter 250's I have do work and do a great job as Skimmers. I have had the 400 models and they did not work at all (why I don't know) but the 250's do and for the money they do a double job. For skimming only tho I do like my Prism skimmer that I bought couple months ago for a hang on it does a yeomans job on my reef.
