What fish for a new tank?

I have just set up a 35 gal hex. What type and how many fish should I put in there and what else ie.... cleaner shrimp?

Just a couple of ?'s has your tank cycled yet? Do you plan on having corals? If so you could go with a pair of clowns. They are pretty hardy fish and have great color to them. Hawkfish are also very hardy and have a lot of personality. Firefish are also so great.

No the tank hasn't cycled. I have live rock on the way but I just want to know what fish and the max amount I can have is. I have had a blue damsel in there for a couple of days.

jwt said it, the only thing is wiht the damsel, i would not consider a ff unless you are returning the damsel
in either case, i myself like blennies scooters and algae(aka lawnmoer or sailfin) are cool and fearless(pretty much) not aggressive so would be ok with ff or damsels
as far as how many, that will depend greatly on which fish it is you get
do you want something something aggressive, or peaceful??

I think a peaceful bunch of fish would probably be best. Let me know your opinions. I have no problem with getting rid of the damsel.
