what hapen to my pods?

i use to have thousands of this creature now i have not seen them and i just bought a mandarin for my refugium instead of a puffer or lionfish.my tank now is infested with asterenia stars .so what happen to my pods and how can i get them back?

i have a tall 30+ gallon refugium inside my 150 gallon sump.so it would not compete with the sixline wrasse and red hawkfish on my display tank
