I bought it on Sat and placed him in the tank. He attached to the LR right away and was just wonderful looking all afternnoon and that evening.
I went to be bed and woke during the night to get a drink and walked by tank with the Moonlights on and he was still in his glory,,,, woke up this morn 4 hours later and its like a limp noodle.. Kinda looks like a Macys Day parade Balloon with no air!! What happened??? I checked my water levels and its right on the money,

Barb..

anemones inflate and deflate all the time. If he looks like he is melting he is dying, but like I said they "puff up" and then "lose their air" regularly. Do you have him under proper lighting?

is he white with purple tips?if it is he is suppose to be brown. he is white because of bleaching from shipping. to fix him u must spot feed him. since he is bleached the population of zooxanthellae that live on them to help provide nutrients to the anemone can not live. so now the only way he can eat is by spot feeding. with good water and lighting he will turn back to brown. good luck.

What type of lighting do you have? Anemones require a lot of light. You can't keep him alive by only feeding him meat, he needs MH lighting. Jobob is right, he should not be white, white anemones are suffering from a lack of light. They will often appear very, very large as they try to increase surface area to increase the amount of light they receive; clams do the same thing.

You may be going through the same thing I am. I bought a condy anemone with purple tips and it was doing fine. I told a friend about it and he said that they can eat A LOT ad need bright ligthing. Well I fed it and ever since it has BLOWN up. I will watch it but I am not sure what may happen.
