What happens if a green & pink birds nest touch?

I have a green birds nest and a pink birds nest close to each other. They have been growing well and are getting closer and closer. Being that they are in the same family, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them touching each other and if anything happened (die off).

once they touch, they will merge and grow together.
