I guess that depends on what kind of horses you're talking about.
I have 4 kudas and I feed them twice a day, enough for them to get a meal in the morning, enough to hunt, and then again they get a supper meal...same deal.

Lisa uses a food dish!!! Works great, makes sure there is no wasted food, and the horses can get their fill

Seahorses are extremely intelligent fish. Every pet I've had, especially my fish, are always right on time for dinner. Lisa was the one who taught me how to use the food dish.
Soak the mysis in garlic for 10 minutes or so before feeding(for what ever reason garlic makes food irisistable). Use a turkey baster to deposit mysis into the food dish. You must hold the baster horizontal~any tipping of it will allow the contents to escape. Make sure you use a ceramic dish, or something to hold the dish down. Face the food dish away from the main flow, I tip mine at a slant, with the back of the dish facing the main flow. Then gently deposit the mysis in the dish.
The 2 females Lisa helped me train, I purchased while visiting her. I bought a one gallon tank to keep them in until I got home. That evening, within 5 minutes, both females were snicking up mysis from the dish. I think the one gallon really helped to train the girls. After that evening, hitched on the dish, they would be waiting for breakfast or dinner. Once they associated the dish with food it's a done deal
I was amazed how quickly the girls responded to the dish.
Make sure to clean the dish after meals. Any left overs..if any..get spoiled quickly.
