What if I want to start a 12 gal nano and I have some cured LR

ummm.........yes. I wouldn't put anything in there as far as sessile inverts go, until ATLEAST a week after the cycle. Unless you are in a hurry (bad thing by the way) I would even wait longer than that. Make sure you can keep you water quality the way you need it for more than a couple of days at a time, when you don't have to change anything anymore, then it's ready for the shrooms. Of course mushrooms are forgiving, but no need in killing them without trying to give them good water first.
I personally don't think you should have anything in that tank as far as inverts and fish go, during the cycle.
Just my 1.5 pennies:D

i started a 12 gallon tankusing LS and LR from other tanks, this tank has a built in wet/dry and I traded out some bio media from well established tanks, it was up and running with no visible cycle over the weekend. (set-up friday, put corals/fish/cleanup in on monday)

I dont know . . . shrooms can be pretty hardy. I had some palythoa that survived my cycle.

I've had ricordea survive a cycle and some blue shrooms as well ... not recommended and the ricordea were removed as they were constantly sloughing off material for 3 or 4 weeks .....

When I first started, there were some rocks with shrooms and zoo's on them purchased as regular live rock. They've cycleing without any problem. Not sure if I would try it now, knowing just a little bit more on the hobby.
You probally won't have much of a cycle if you even have a cycle. If you've taken live rock from an established aquarium and bio-balls from an established aquarium, your nitrifying bactera is fully present. If anything you're probally just have some bacteria die-off till it reaches the equilbrium of your bio-load.
