MP mean nothing. If all your doing is posting pics on the net 4mp would be more then PLENTY.
If someone tells you that then dont take their advice cause they dont know jack.
How much do you want to invest. Do you wanna go all out for a DSLR or a good P&S..what kinda pics are you looking for.. Macros and such

Are you looking for a point and shoot or a DSLR? The only reason for the higher megapixel's is so that you can blow the image up to huge size and not loose image quality, unless your going to be printing posters, don't worry too much about pixels, 4-6mp is fine.
