Hiya,
I've got a 37 gallon and I just buy it from my local store. It doesn't evaporate out that fast and I only change about 3-4 gallons every month.

The Typhoon III is a very nice unit. It produces 75g per-day which really means it will give you around 3g per-hour.

I just bought a coralife Ro but I have a 90g and figured out that over 1 year it will pay for itself. check prices then cost of buying Ro water might not be worth it if you just keep the 38. Remember that it takes quite a bit of time to produce Ro water at home and that will mean using the faucet for all that time. Some do 24g a day others do 50g a day but you pay more for the speedy ones.

good luck

I have asked myself the same question...
I have found SO many different models. You know, on that one web site that starts with an E and ends in a Y...I have no idea which one to get either...But I do think they would be cheaper in the long run...Any info on the most bang for our bucks would be appreciated!

I bought two RODI units from that auction website. Both are good units however I have had problems with the autoshut off valve quitting on the one unit. After numerous calls and emails I have still yet to receive any rely as to what can be done to rectify the broken valve......The sellers name or the name of the RODI units is Aquasafe..........So he is wiling to take your money, but refuses to help with a problem, and his answering machine states simply he only corresponds e commerce /sales/service.....which he has clearly demonstrated that he does not by not returning any calls or emails.
The other unit I bought also came from that auction site, but its a filtersdirect model.......5 stage well made and in all reality identical to the other unit I previously bought. Looking at the two of them side by side the valves appear to be identical, so I called Filtersdirect place up and talked to them, and told them of my problem.........and believe it or not, they sent me a replacement valve free of charge for a competitors rodi unit......All the fellow there said was just to remember who gives service after a sale or who will help when help is needed........so needless to say Filtersdirect is topnotch in my book.........I have a 100 gpd unit, 5 stage........and it works equally as well as the other one does since I have it fixed. I had both units in operation for about 2 months and the aquasafe broke about 1 1/2 months later......The filtersdirect is cheaper to buy as well as ship and it also has clear filter housiings as well which is a plus. ...not counting they will do what it takes if yu have a problem.......

I love my RO/DI filter. It is by Dvoneb and is on the auction site as well. Produces roughly 70-80 GPD. I have it hard mounted in my laundry room so I can filter water any time I want without tying up my faucet. I also filter water to drink as well so it has already payed for itself. I got the whole thing shipped for $100.
