Its a rather debateable topic. (like what isn't 
)
Anyway I use one. But you also need a voltage meter, let me repeat that. YOU ALSO NEED A VOLTAGE METER to be albe to check for stray voltage and to find a piece of equimpent that may be defective or leaking stray voltage.
Now I have a link for you. Its a little one sided, but at least this guy's not trying to sell you anything, he is trying to save your life or the life of your fish. If nothing else you should have a GFCI outlet installed.
