RO/DI would be best...DI would be sufficient as it removes what you need removed from an aquarium environment. It is why Kent sells the DI unit..and charges a pretty penny for it.
Most RO/DI units come with a mixed bed resin cartridge for the DI. Mine did as well, and I have since replaced it with a seperate anion resin container and probably will add a seperate cation resin container. The positive ions are for the most part ok..calcium, magnesium, etc.
