What is good for fish health/nitrates???

I would like people's opinions on a certain subject. Many people feed their fish every other day or every third day to keep nitrates down.
My questions is, if nitrates were not a factor, what would be the most beneficial and healthy frequency and way to feed fish in an aquarium??????
Any opinions or thoughts???

So do people with FOWLR tend to feed their fish more than people with reef tanks? Personaly I have very little LR, 3 fish, several inverts and am considering an anenome. Do I have to sacrifice the fish health to keep nitrates down for the anenome?
