What does HLLE stand for? I was scanning through the postings here and came across this term HLLE.
I think my sailfin has it, what should I do? around his eyes he has indentions, i thought maybe it was just scrapes from brushing up against the rock, but its awfully close to the eye so i started doing research on here. Is it infectous to the other fish? the others in the tank seem to be unaffected.
Is HLLE curable?

HLLE is Head and Latteral Line Erosion. It is not contagious but signifies a problem within the tank. It is most commonly from lack of proper nutrition. Please read the information about HLLE locate in the Common Treatments FAQ at the top of Disease and Treatment. We will help you correct it.

I agree with both of the posts above. The two main causes are poor nutrition and poor water quality. I have found that soaking fish's food in Selcon and/or VitaChem really helps though. This website sells both of them if you cannot find them locally.
