what is ick?

im new to saltwater aquariums and on a lot of the messages other people leave, they talk about ick....what is ick and how does it look like, and what causes it?

ich is a parasite, caused by many things such as stress, poor water quality, temp. shifts it looks like small grains of salt on the fish
