What is it?

Hello everyone,
Can someone identify this for me? Hopefully the pictures attach, if not, here is a description.
Brown with multiple tenacles. Eats blood worms, and other food I place on it. It will collapse when fed bringing the food into the center. 1 1/2" inches high. Has grown a lot in the past two months.
I love this "thing" and want to make sure I take very good care of it.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance

looks like a pest anemone. Probably not the best thing to have in your tank since they tend to multiply fast and sting corals or fish that they come in contact with.

haha.. what does that mean?

Do a search on this site for aptasia. You will find tons of info on how to get rid of them.

To melee (?sp) is when you strike someone on the back of the neck by the base of the skull to enforce instant death. Single best silent move in any of the Halo games, and technically that holds true in espionage as well.

You guys are awesome! I googled aptasia and finally found a picture matching what I have. I had no idea that it was a pest.
In my tank, I noticed some small white tubes on the live rock with one or two tenacles protuding from it. Is the start of another one? I tried to research it, but didn't find anything.
Thanks!

The white tubes with tentacles starting to protrude sound like they could be like a star cluster coral or a dendro of some type. Is it on a new rock?

If you've been feeding that for a couple months you've probably got 30 babies. Go look in your aquarium tonight with the lights off with a flash light & see if you find a bunch of small brown ones about the size of a pensil eraser. I've been nukeing them for a couple weeks with some kalec mix & a syringe from a test kit. Works pretty good. Most should be in the sand bed. Fond my main mothers in the refugium.
