there are a lot of these on my lr and they were completely white when i put in the rock so i thought they were just coral skeletons but then they colored up (a light brown) and they have short clear fingers coming out of them (like a GSP)... thanks for the help...

I just flipped through a reference book and it's hard to tell for sure, but it's probably a type of cup coral from the Caryophlliidae family. It's a diverse family that includes several different genuses, may of which are non-photosynthetic, so you may have to feed then to keep them alive. That's a pretty sweet hitchhiker!

what ever they are they made it through a long cycle and i didnt feed anything during the cycle so they are tough... thanks for your help!!!

Nope, they are not a hydroid. Yosemite is correct. They are the colonial version of the cup coral.

after looking at pics of the cups that looks right... i hope they fill out a little more and wish they werent so brown... kinda ugly...
