What is on my Tang?

I woke up yesterday to find my tang at the top of the tank. He wasn't really swimming, he was just jerking back and forth. His dorsal fin was kind of distorted and had looked like he had been attacked (only two clowns and a lawn mower with him.) A few hours later, his entire back was nasty. It was raw and he was very weak. Went to store and got "marix" capsules and treated tank. he was scratching his back in the corner of the tank yesterday. Now he is just laying on the bottom breathing rapidly. Every now and then, he tries to swim, not too efficiently though.
Is there anything else I can do?

I forgot to mention:
Ammonia=0
Nitrite=0
Nitrate=0
PH=8.2
Been doing some searching in the archives. Anyone think it is fin rot? And I think the stuff I have is actually Melafix? Not at home right now so I can't look at the box. Little white capsules with powder. Says its a copper substitute.
Tanks again!

Oh yes, there is certainly something you can do...get the tang out of the tank and place him in a hospital tank. I believe your impression about harrassment is correct, thus you need to separate the fish...if he's still alive by the time you get home.

Get him out. That was the final stage of my powder blue tang before he died and now all my fish have ich, BAD. AND I think I might lose the lawnmower because of it.
