what is salt creep

my yellow tangs have a white stripe would it be salt creep

Not salt creep....this is what gets on the top of the tank, hang on top filters, or lens of the lights.....white crusty, dried up salt.
What you are describing is what could be caused by insufficient feeding of the tangs. They need greens, nori, or algae off the rocks. Most tanks don't have enough algae, so feeding strips of nori will help with this problem.
Sometimes it can also be caused by stress......from water issues, or harassment of other fish.

thanks they are already looking better we are feeding them nori must have been stress

yellow tangs just have that stripe, its more pronounced at night when the fish typically lose some of its color. Its normal, just keep feeding the veggies
