I am starting a FO tank and will not be using LR or LS. It's a different kind of an idea on the display end of the setup. There will be plenty of base rock used though. I would like some shrimps, crabs, etc or any suggestions on what else could survive in this type of environment.

you can have almost anything you like as far as fish go. you cant have rock picking fish. imo you do need to run a wet dry filter

I want to clarify...when you say no Live Sand - do you mean NO sand or substrate? WHat fish do you intend to keep? No decisions can be made on inverts until you provide the fish list.
What sort of base rock are you using?

The tank is a 120gal with a wet/dry, uv, skimmer, etc.. I was going to use aragonite as a substrate, 2" deep. As for fish the first is going to be a lion (type still undecided),then the the proverbial Yellow Tang, Maybe a Blue tang, Definitely 1-2 Jawfish.Possibly a small angle. After that it's kinda open,I want to try to go for unique fish. Was thinking about 7-10 fish total but this is first salt tank. Lots of cichlid exp. Is it possible to supplement rock picking fish with algae chips like fresh water? The base rock is dry Tonga shelf and dry Fiji. The rock is going to be cleaned (bleached) so that a pristien white rock structure is obtained.
