My 55 gal. reef has been up since March of 2004. Started with fish only and I have been adding stuff little by little.
Temp: 76-78
Gravity: 1.022-1.023
nitrites: 0
Amonia:0
Nitrates: 40 trying to lower
calc: 380 trying to raise
Alk:? no test for this
Just wondering what the best food source would be for these?
I have:
7-8 feather dusters
1 bubble tip anemone
1 torch coral
1 brown mushroom
1 hairy mushroom
1 goniopora
One other question. I was told to clean my sand when I do water changes, How do you go about doing that if you have a bunch of Base, LR and Corals? Everytime I do this I have to pull out all my stuff, is this necessary?

I have about the same corals as you..except the goniopora...I use D.T.'s phytoplankton..Which is mostly for the leather and for the creatures that feed your corals..Your lighting should give the softies the nutrients it needs. as far as the sand bed, I never do anything to mine...I have good flow in tank and a very good cleanup crew

I sware by this stuff, my corals are loving it, and the fish get some too. My tank has never looked so good, been feeding for about one and half months, big difference. The mushrooms curl right up into a little ballwhen it touchesd them,
Boy I sound like a salesman!!
