what do you mean by setting? if the sand isnt live then there wouldnt be any die off to change params. where is this sand from?

I mean after I run my new sump with new sand in it, is my water parameter will change? Like PH / ammonia/ nitrate/ nitrite? The sand is from LFS sand and it not live sand, its just regular sand bed

i would rinse it with RO water to make sure its nice and clean, if i were you. since it dosent have any creatures in it that will die i dont see why it wound change your waters parameters. i would use LS if i were you, thats how im doing my sump cause the critters in it will help sift it a little and they are beneficial. and the pods and such will breed in there and will be able to give your fish some 24 hour food source when they get sucked into the return pipe and into the main tank.
