What is the best way to get a ric to spread out.

I have a couple beautiful rics however they are pretty folded, what is the trick to get them to spread out?

Are the in a lot of flow? they could be folded up cuz its a bit to much flow

Alot is a relative term, I've got about 2500 gph running in a 58 gallon...

2500gph in a 58 aint that much. i have 3500gph in a 58 gallon. if high flow is the case, there should be atleast one somewhat slow area in the tank. mine is on entire side where i keep all my mushrooms.
