I have heard of this quicrete, does it work? I have an inch of live sand right now, should I pore it on top of the live sand?

Any sugersize grained sand will do. Do not dump it on top of your live sand unless you add it an inch at a time over a few days. you will kill a lot of the critters living in your sand right now if you just dump it in.
