What is the smallest tank a puffer fish can live in?

depends on what puffer you are looking at. porcupine puffers get pretty big

a valentini is the smallest puffer, next to freshwater dwarfs, but that does not mean he will be happy in a small tank. It's a swimmer, so the smallest tank would be a 45g, better a 55 g.

almost any Canthigaster(toby) puffer can be kept in 30g or more. smaller tank just means fewer tank mates. In a 30g you can probably only keep one or two more fish and by 30g I mean 3ft 30g not a 30g cube or tall.

Figure 8 are a brackish puffer that i have see aclimated to a full salt talk over months and keep in a 10 gallon tank
