What is this, aiptasia or what?

I have these hitchikers that have been on my rock since day one.
I don't think they are aiptasia, but I want to be sure.
I also want to know what they are, and if they are harmful.
They have tentacles, are fluorescent green, and come out of a hard shell base. I hope you can see these somewhat clearly.

Do aiptasia remain stationary in their own hard shell base. That's what these have.
Sorry, but these are the best pics I can come up with.

Come on now.....somebody has to know what these are?
The first pic shows the hard shell base that these creatures all live in.
The second pic seems to show the transluscent slightly green tentacles best.

looks like it may be some type of Catalaphyllia aka. Elegance. Hard to tell from that pic though. Can you get a clearer one, maybe?

I think they are glass anemones.I had some on my recent Xenia rock I put in my tank. They look like little hard craters with small translucent tentacles sticking out.Check them at night with a flashlight, when the tank lights are out of course, and they will be more extended.I don't think they are harmful.Mine kinda just disappeared over time.Something ate them I suppose.

I have these too. They are not aptasia. However, I do not know what they are. I have had them from over a year with no harmful effects. In fact, they are right near some SPS, and they do not seem to bother each other.

Thank you 10K, chinnyr, and quazi.
I had a sneeking suspicion they weren't and aren't harmful. They are actually kind of cool looking. I just wanted to be sure.

acutally, its a hard coral called astrangia sp. (I think i spelled that right) I have several on my LR and they are generally on high quality LR from the pacific. Perfectly harmless, but put them in the dark. they do poorly in the light. Take a look at it with a flashlight after your lights have been off for about an hour or so and the thing will be at least three times that size. they are really neat looking at night, and they grow rather rapidly.

as justinx said they are not aptasia and are low light hard corals found on LR. I see that you are from Fla and if you happened to purchase your LR from TBS then their premium LR has tons of them. Great rock to top off your tank with due to the many different types of low light hard coral found in Gulf rock.
