What is this in my tank?

Ive seen about 4 of these over the past couple of weeks or so floating at the top. I've been takin them out thinkin it was my lion , but he died and they are still there?!?!

No it's not carbon. My Carbon is not that big and a piece tat big can't get out..
It almost looks like wood or a little hard bean. Those are the ends of tongs it's resting on. ... it's about a cm long

is it possible that it's small pieces of wood that were in liverock

No it's not wood, doesnt smell like anything..havent decided what to eat it with..
I'll break one open later on and show the pic.
