What is this worth?

My neighbor is moving soon and wants to sell his tank and asked for my help. He has a price in mind but asked me to see if it's an ok price. I won't say the price now until I see what others would pay for it. Here are the specs he sent me:
46 gallon bow-front w/ black trim
Coralife dual tube 65W compact fluorescent fixture
Dual tube 20W fluorescent fixture
Mag-5 pump, with dual output SQWD water director
Bak-Pak protein skimmer with upgrade Maxi-Jet 1200
Surface skimmer attached to a Penguin 500
Black wood laminate stand
Black custom built oak canopy with built-in fan
All rock, coral and fish included
Ok, he says he has about 100+ lbs of rock. Tank has been setup for 3+ years. He has live sand but not sure on how much. He is also willing to let the RO/DI unit go. Now I came up with a price list of what his corals and fish are worth and you can comment.
Frogspawn: split in two pieces and both are large so I gave it $130 ... at least 20+ heads
3 Anemones: Bubble tip that has split twice...I know...under CF lights but are thriving and I gave it $60
Purple shrooms: $50 for maybe 20+ big arse shrooms
Pulsing xenia: grows like wild so I only gave it $60
Fish:
Clown goby, perc clown and diamond goby all 1+ years and doing well ... $50
I didn't feel like pricing the rest of his equipment yet so you give me what you think you would pay. If you have any questions, bring 'em on and I will try to answer. Thanks for your help.

I think that used stuff goes for half of what retail is. So if a pump costs $30 figure $15. Now do some research and do the math.

I would go around there, not higher because you dont know how well he kept up on the maintinence on his equipment, it could be ready to crap out.... you never know, 750 sounds reasonable sight unseen, less if glass is scratched and so on.

I'd say between $600-$700.....Used tanks and stand aren't worth much and a LFS wouldn't offer anything in that range......

IMO $750 sounds high. My friend just purchased a 125 with MH/VHO lighting, protein skimmer, LR, coral and fish for $1000.
Aquarium livestock and dry goods typically have a resale value of 1/3 of their retail value price.

Just thought I would update this post. The guy selling didn't want less than $850 unless it sold it to me. My thoughts on this was that his tank was older and needed some upgrades just on the equipment. However, he said that he would sell it to me for $500 but it had to go for more for anyone else. I had a buyer and was honest with him and told him what I thought it was worth and that I could buy it and turn around and sell it to him for what I paid. However, I was worried that the seller would stop in from time to time to see how the tank was doing and what could I say? Since I had no intention of keeping it. Luckily my bud (the buyer) didn't want to put me in that position and offered $800 which my neighbor accepted.
The bad thing is that I offered to help move the tank. All 3 of us broke the tank down and loaded it up but the seller didn't offer to come re-set it up and he said it was because he didn't sell it for enough. I was pissed but didn't say anything. I went with the buyer and set everythingup which took all day. The tank came with some stuff I wasn't used to like a swcd (I think) setup and some other things. Plus we needed like 20 gallons of new water and the buyer didn't have anything to make water. I did it all with my stuff and now (3 weeks later) it looks great but what did I get for my work...nothing!!! The buyers (wife included) were mad that the seller didn't help reset the tank but they didn't say anything about the help I gave. Man I am still pissed!!!!
Anyway, I wanted ti update this thread and rant some and I really didn't want anything for my help but I would have liked to be offered something even though I would have turned it down.
