doesn't quite look like green bubble algea or valonia, perhaps it is a red color (I can't quite tell) Doesn't quite look like the examples of Botryocladia or Red bubble algea either. :notsure:

no technical names here, but that is red bubble algae. Probably one of the most problematic algaes that I am aware of as nothing eats it. Not even emeralds. It spreads quite rapidly as well, but not like the green variety. They do look cool though as when they get bigger they get a metallic/flourescent sheen to them. I would still try and get rid of them though.

:jumping: I had the same algae in my tank and at first it wasn't a problem. Then it started to show up in other areas of my tank quite rapidly, so I removed it from my tank. I would recomend you do the same.

I have got it all over the place. I originally thought it was some sort of a sponge the way it grew, here's a picture....

I have since removes that huge clump, but it continues to spread. I am gonna buy some more emeralds soon, because mine a very lazy.
