what is this

I found this comming out of my rock tonight it is roughly 1" in lenght (maybe more like 1/2-3/4")
it moved and looked like a fury pink catapillar...
any idea..
(yes I know the pic is very bad but also by description those who have seen them would know)

They are kinda good but kinda bad. They will grow to unknown lenghts. I talked to a local person and he said he found one in his tank about 26" long and he pulled it out. But make sure when you take them out that you dont touch it or break its body.

what happnes if u touch it or break its body???
I treid to grab it last night with the tongs and I may have broke it body a bit

leave it- it is fine- there are more misconceptions out ther about bristle worms than there are balls in a ball pit:confused: but the worms that eat corals are rare in tanks and do not look like your average bristle worm

they sell little traps for them in most pet LFS .never had to use one tg .but i have seen them for sale can't say which one is best to use.ps theer are accually thousands or species of bristle worms out there but one was accually recorded to reach (9 ft long) can we say ewwwwwwwwwwwww.but they are not harmfull in most cases
