What Is This

I JUST BOUGHT ABOUT 7 POUNDS OF LIVE ROCK FROM A PET STORE I PUT IT IN MY TANK. I WAS LOOKING AT IT AND I SAW A REDDISH HAIRY WORM LIKE CREATURE CRAWL OUT OF A HOLE IN THE ROCK.CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT IT ISor might be?

Sounds like a bristle worm.

they are part of the natural clean up crew of the tank. They do get a bad rap though because if something dies in the tank they start cleaning it up.
They can be bad once there numbers get really high or they get huge but most of the time they are part of a healthy ecosystem.

BTW dont touch them though they will leave little thorns like catcus' do as a deffense mechanism.

I've heard that there fine but that some people don't like them in there tanks.Not sure why.No there not poisnous.I wouldnt mind having a few in my tank to help with the cleaning but I havent found any yet.There very common and alot of LR have them.

i think ppl don't like them because they look nasty and stuff...
